Spring Project List

I love working on big furniture pieces and tearing walls and ceilings apart for big impact projects but with my basement full of my porch furniture and the garage filled with melting snow and freezing temps, I haven’t had anywhere to work. Also, blankets and fires just seemed like the right choice for a couple months. Now that it is warming up a bit, I’m ready to get to work, and could use some advice from the internet if you’ve got any suggestions. Here’s my current spring project list.

Fabric Dying 101: Indigo Dye and Shibori Folding Patterns

If you went online in the summer of 2016, you’ve inevitably seen Shibori dye and the indigo everything as a result. Shibori is essentially tie-dye but using only indigo instead of the rainbow of colors. Which makes it pretty much foolproof since there is no risk of accidentally using too many colors and dying your shirt poop brown (we’ve all been there). Easily and Inexpensively Frame Odd-sized Art

After purchasing two amazing prints from the talented Amy Blackwell and her shop Audrey and Illya, I’ve been at a loss as to how to frame them. To those of us who don’t use international paper sizes, the A4 prints are roughly an 8.5″ x 11″ but not exactly. Because of that, I had the hardest time finding a frame to use. I know they must make A4 frames but alas I could not find one I liked. While there is always the option for custom frames (expensive) or having a mat cut (slightly less expensive), I needed another alternative.

Easy Living Room Refresh

How to Convert a Chainlink Fence to a Wood Fence

All I do is think about fences. It’s official. Last year, I moved the fence behind my garage five feet back and we used an auger to dig holes for the posts. That job was so terrible, I still have nightmares about cutting through several feet of bricks and clay. So when it came time to finish installing the fence
