Obsessions: 04.06.18

While we as a group aren’t huge on sports, having baseball back in season is making it feel like spring might finally be here! We’ll just ignore the snow showers we had yesterday in Cleveland. If you’re looking for something to watch or buy this weekend, we’ve got you covered with this week’s And Then We Tried Obsessions.

Learning how to use my new phone

This week I made the switch from an iPhone 6 to a Google Pixel 2 XL and I’ve been trying to get myself up to speed on all things Android. Like any change, a lot of people have opinions about this switch, but so far, I’m liking the new phone! My old phone was a garbage piece of trash and I could barely do anything on it, so it’s nice to have a phone that actually works. My biggest issue is that I can’t find a case to hold 3–5 cards. I was using this card case and I haven’t seen anything comparable for the Pixel 2 XL. Any Android users out there wanna share some tips with me? I’m still trying to learn the gestures and how to get the page to scroll back to the top.

Rosé

Rosé Exposé Part Three Coming Soon!

Rosé season is here. We’re working our way through every rosé in the Cleveland area again this year and have been noticing a lot of new canned rosés. Also, word on the street is that rosé cider is where its at this year, so I’ll be sure to sample several of those as well. Award for rosé closest to my couch goes to: Apothic Rosé available at the 7-11 down the street.

Summer House

Just in case you’re feeling the withdrawal that is the Bachelor off season and Vanderpump Rules (which I’ve already raved about) just doesn’t come out enough, let me introduce you to Summer House. While not quite as good as the before mentioned shows, this one has been getting me through the week the way only trashy tv can.

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder

laura mercier

I had my makeup trial for my wedding last weekend and the makeup artist put this loose powder to set my face. It was amazing! It stayed in place like never before. I didn’t get greasy or gross and now all I can think about this week is how much I need this powder in my life. Please someone, is this worth the $38 investment?

Levi’s Mile High Super Skinny Jeans

atwt obsessions levi's mile high skinny jeans

As Michelle mentioned a few weeks back, the newest iteration of team-favorite BDG Super High Rise Twig jeans just isn’t cutting it. Thanks to my v strong thighs, my pair of dark rinse jeans are nearing the end of their life and I needed a reliable replacement pair. I decided to try out Levi’s Mile High Super Skinny jeans and have been very impressed! The rise is high enough to go above my belly button, and they have plenty of stretch, which I like in a skinny jean. FYI, I find these run pretty true to size, as opposed to the Levi’s Wedgie jeans, where I size up.

Arby’s Gyro Commercial

My favorite commercial is back! I don’t know why, but this commercial always cracks me up. I’ll just leave this here for when you need a little pick me up.

Attaching a wood fence to a chainlink fence

As I mentioned in my last fence/gate update post, I helped Erika attach a wood fence to the chainlink fence in her backyard. The process was similar to when I converted a chainlink fence to a wood fence, except in this case, we left the chainlink fence intact. This method is a good option if you want to add a little more privacy to your yard or camouflage a chainlink fence while you wait to save up for a completely new fence.

Obsessions: 10.19.18

You wanna know what we have been decidedly NOT obsessed with in the past month? The blog. Womp womp. We’re hopping back in this week, but we’ll be posting a bit more sporadically for a while. Here’s hoping you all loved getting caught up on Michelle’s driveway gate plans yesterday. See what else we’ve been obsessed with in this week’s And Then We Tried Obsessions.

Fence Updates and Two-Panel Wood Driveway Gate Plans

Hellooooo, I’m thinking about fences again! You all had the pleasure of following along as I moved and rebuilt the fence in my backyard and then converted a chainlink fence into a wood fence along my driveway, and now it’s finally time to build that driveway gate. Of course, I can’t just build a driveway gate and leave it at that, I’ve also decided to cap the entire fence to cover up the dogear pickets and give everything a cleaner and more finished look. HOORAY!
