Obsessions: 12.15.17

It’s officially winter here in Cleveland and all this snow is making Hannah and Michelle very jealous of Robin’s sunshine in California. Other than staying warm, here’s what we’re obsessed with in this week’s And Then We Tried obsessions.

Outsiders Pizza

Outsiders Pizza Make America Pizza Again

Hannah and I got to try Outsiders Pizza last night at Platform Brewery and it was excellent. We knew nothing about it going into the night, and after trying a couple of pieces learned that it is frozen pizza. It tastes legit and we would recommend it for sure. Now we don’t have to open the door for the pizza delivery person all winter. Also, we got these sweet shirts. Thanks, Outsiders! You can buy their pizzas in Heinen’s in Cleveland and Kroger in Columbus.

Note: just Googled around and found out Outsiders is a Nestle brand. It felt so artisanal. Millennial me feels so betrayed. Still a cool shirt, though.

Making Pet Sweatshirts

Custom Pet Sweatshirts

I am having THE BEST TIME making these custom pet sweatshirts for people. I know you are buying them as gifts, but it really feels like a gift for me to get to make them. Keep ’em coming. You can order one here.

Life Changing Makeup Brush Technique

make up brush technique

I saw this amazing technique for drying your makeup brushes on Apartment Therapy last week. MIND BLOWN. Use your hair ties to secure your brushes upside down to the curtain rod or towel bar. I finally tried it and love that it got all the wet brushes off my counter.

Politically Correct Christmas Classic

This semi-creepy and predatory Christmas favorite has been revamped with a modern day twist full of Pomegranate LaCroix and women’s right to say no. You won’t be disappointed.

Meet Me in St. Louis

meet me in st. louis poster

Meet Me in St. Louis was one of the movies on my list to watch this Christmas season and I was excited to check it out since I’d never seen it before. Lucky for me, they were playing it on the big screen at the Capitol Theater! Zac and I went with our neighbors and for $10 we got a ticket to the movie and access to their cocktail hour beforehand. The theater had movie-themed drinks (I went with The Boy Next Door margarita, haha) and cheese and crackers and cookies. Definitely worth it! If you’re in the Cleveland area be sure to check out their Happy Hour Classics Series. The next one at Capitol is Vertigo in January.

Judy Garland’s Tennis Outfit

Another Meet Me in St. Louis entry. I can’t believe it took me this long to see this movie, it might be my new favorite. Anyways, Judy Garland’s outfit in the first scene as she comes home from playing tennis needs to be in my wardrobe immediately. Those stripes! That bow tie! Basically, I want to live my life as Tootie but in this outfit.

Attaching a wood fence to a chainlink fence

As I mentioned in my last fence/gate update post, I helped Erika attach a wood fence to the chainlink fence in her backyard. The process was similar to when I converted a chainlink fence to a wood fence, except in this case, we left the chainlink fence intact. This method is a good option if you want to add a little more privacy to your yard or camouflage a chainlink fence while you wait to save up for a completely new fence.

Obsessions: 10.19.18

You wanna know what we have been decidedly NOT obsessed with in the past month? The blog. Womp womp. We’re hopping back in this week, but we’ll be posting a bit more sporadically for a while. Here’s hoping you all loved getting caught up on Michelle’s driveway gate plans yesterday. See what else we’ve been obsessed with in this week’s And Then We Tried Obsessions.

Fence Updates and Two-Panel Wood Driveway Gate Plans

Hellooooo, I’m thinking about fences again! You all had the pleasure of following along as I moved and rebuilt the fence in my backyard and then converted a chainlink fence into a wood fence along my driveway, and now it’s finally time to build that driveway gate. Of course, I can’t just build a driveway gate and leave it at that, I’ve also decided to cap the entire fence to cover up the dogear pickets and give everything a cleaner and more finished look. HOORAY!
