It’s week 6 of the One Room Challenge! I’m shocked we’re already at the reveal! This is the fun part guys! The rental friendly outdoor deck renovation came together so nicely (in my heavily biased opinion). It’s warm and inviting and finally maximizing every inch of the deck as best we can.
If you’ve been following along you know this has been a long process—or was that just me? Or if you’re just checking us out for the first time, get caught up on all the previous weeks. (Hint— we built a cornhole set, an outdoor chalkboard, and restyled the entire deck just to name a few.)

We have what I’m calling the day set up vs. the night set up. The afternoon sun can be brutal on the deck so for daytime entertaining, it’s all about shade, activities, and plenty of space for food and booze. In the evenings, it’s all about getting people set up to watch the outdoor movie theater. Take a look below and let me know what you think!
Day Set Up
Turning the planting bench into an outdoor bar was maybe my best idea.
With the bench flipped to the opposite wall we filled the blank empty space we had before.
I love that we have the cornhole up here now. It’s a great distraction while waiting for the BBQ! Plus take a peak at that chalkboard. So fun to doodle on.
With all the decor, the deck finally has color and personality.
Night Set Up
Flipping the bench around lets everyone enjoy the outdoor movie theater.
The bench adds some much needed additional seating for both the day and night set up.
